I've always been the sort to feel a sense of obligation. If I've been party to some revel and caused a mess, then I feel the need to help clean it up.
Most of what we wrecked (not counting our health and standing in the community) was our financial resources. As a consequence, and in an effort to pull ourselves from the hole from which we dug, I... yes, I, pawned my camera.
It is currently in hock for $200 bucks. $236 to get it back. What is it they say? Poor people have poor ways? lol. I guess so.
I'll get it back this coming weekend. My friend and I, we'll split it. We both took half the cash. We were in need and too proud to stand on a corner begging. Instead, we took a loan out on one of my prized possessions.
As a side note; since I pawned it, I've never seen so much awesome summer lightning in my life! Everyday for the past two weeks (it seems to me, anyway) there's been one summer storm after another. Lots of lightning, lots of interesting clouds, lots of things to photograph... but, of course, I DON'T HAVE A CAMERA TO CAPTURE ANY OF IT!
Maybe it's all in my head, but I could swear the gods are getting even with me for the sin of pawning my camera. lol
I'll be back soon enough, though... once I right my sins and pay penance to the loan sharks.
Anyway, that explains my absence as of late.
